What is Natural Horsemanship?
Natural Horsemanship - the natural handling of horses or the instinct-led community between man and horse.
This philosophy is ancient and yet one of the most progressive of our time. Natural horsemanship is based on the knowledge of the natural behaviour and psyche of horses and is much more comprehensive than conventional riding lessons. This is because natural horsemanship takes into account the fact that humans, who are predators and carnivores, appear as a dangerous enemy to horses, which are flight animals and herbivores.
Natural horsemanship teaches people to think like horses and motivates horses to co-operate mentally. Mutual trust is promoted and the hierarchy is regulated in a natural way. This is done, for example, through trust exercises that signal to the horse that we are seeking its friendship, its partnership.
